Q. I added an Organization, but I can't see it in the drop-down list for referrals. What am I missing?
A. The usual culprit is a tiny checkbox when you open or add a Contact within an Organization. The check box says "referral contact." If that box is not checked, it will not show up on the drop-down list for external referrals.
